I love sketching cartoons. Since my childhood I have been drawing cartoon characters which fascinated me. By Gods grace I have been very good at copying cartoons exactly the way they are. People praise my drawings and it feels good when they do so. My parents and friends always encouraged me but I never really practiced drawing them professionally. I made cartoons just for fun.

A few days back we had a competition in my new college on cartoon sketching. I wasn’t sure as I had never really made caricatures, but I took a chance. We got topics on the spot. My topic was “A scene in a dental clinic”. Being a dental student it wasn’t very difficult 4 me. So I gave it a shot. I couldn’t believe when I came to know that I got third prize among the sixteen people who took part. It elevated my spirits and made me believe in myself. After that I went for another competition n which sixteen colleges took part. The topic I got there was “Shopping malls”. Though I didn’t win any prize this time but nevertheless it was an amazing experience and it has boosted my confidence. Now I have decided to regularly practice sketching caricatures and I m sure next year I’ll grab the First prize, I have a long way to go.
